Talking about wool applique!
26 February 2016
For over 20 years, working with wool has been a passion for me. Wool applique, rug hooking, stitching with wool thread ... it never gets old! You might even have read this blog post from 2009 where I talked about my 'love affair with wool' and shared some tips. To say I'm a fanatic is an understatement!
I spent part of the week at Hen and Chicks Studio in Conrad, Iowa with my friend Heidi. One of the fun things we did was talk about wool on her Create With Heidi radio show. We talked tools, and wool communities like my Wool Workers group on Facebook ... and I even had some wool history facts that Heidi didn't know! It was terrific to be a guest on her show and I'm glad I had the chance to do it. Here's the the list of previous guests she's had on the show. Go listen while you stitch!
I'll be one of the guest instructors at the Creative Harvest Festival in September ... I'm teaching several wool classes of course ... plus an exclusive project for those who buy the event retreat package Hen and Chicks will offer. It's going to be a fantastic event ... including a special luncheon with Jo Packham from Where Women Create! I don't recall her coming to an event in the Midwest for a long time ... this will be a great time to meet her. Circle this weekend and add it to your calendar.

Speaking of wool ... my Spring Pouch is one of four that will be appearing in Quilts and More magazine through out the year. I love this bright and cheerful project and can't wait for you to see the others!
If you're in Iowa though, stop by Hen and Chicks and pick up a few pieces of wool. Heidi has a great selection! (Minus a few pieces that made their way home to Minnesota!!)
